Lily Collins and City of Bones director Harald Zwart attend Clockwork Princess Book Tour in LA

Posted on

As we told you previously, Clary Fray actress Lily Collins was scheduled to attend the Clockwork Princess Book Tour at Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles tonight. Along with her, director Harald Zwart, too, surprised the audience by attending the event for the last book of The Infernal Devices trilogy. Check out photos in the gallery here.

A Tumblr user recorded a video of Lily talking about the characters and what it was like working with Jamie Campbell Bower. You can check that out here.

Here’s what Lily said about working with Jamie:

Working with Jamie was amazing, literally, when I say he’s Jace, he genuinely is Jace. I can’t wait for you guys to see what’s up with the character. He’s got that cockiness, sarcastic, the hot thing going on. He shows a real vulnerability, that you know… it takes a real man to show real vulnerability. Working with him was amazing and you know he’s very supportive but also a real joker.

Fellow authors on the tour with Cassandra Clare, Maureen Johnson and Sarah Brennan tweeted info from the event, which we have compiled below:

  • Harald says he loved filming a movie with a strong female lead, & @cassieclare & @lilycollins are awesome women.
  • If lily could play another tmi character it would be Magnus. Hot, great parties, gets with lots of guys
  • Harald the director says making @cassieclare‘s book into a movie was so much fun, you have no idea. 😉

Some quick Vine videos from the event can be seen below:

MTV’s exclusive video from The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones focusing on Lily Collins

Posted on Updated on

As promised, MTV has released their new exclusive video from The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones set. Clary Fray actress Lily Collins is the focus of the video and the cast and author Cassandra Clare sound off on her.

Watch the video below:

Lily Collins on Clary Fray:

“I love the stories. I love Clary because she’s this heroine who’s this normal girl, who finds out she has these powers,” the actress told MTV News during a recent visit to the Toronto-based set. “The emotion is there. It’s not just a CGI world. It’s not just a translation of a book. It’s more emotionally, character-based than just aesthetically beautiful.”

“I love Clary. I love this series,” she enthused. “I’m so ready. I’m so ready to be a Shadowhunter a little more since I’ve only gotten a taste of it in this film.”

Jamie Campbell Bower on Lily:

“To get to watch Lily do something — that’s really amazing,” he said. “There have been times I’ve been in a scene with Lily, and she’s doing something, and I just zone out, being like ‘God, you’re brilliant. Oh wait! I’m actually meant to be saying something.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, crikey! There’s words at this point.’ “

Robert Sheehan (Simon) on Lily:

“She’s an absolute star and incredible, on-the-moment brilliant actor and consummate professional,” said Robert Sheehan, who plays Clary’s best friend Simon. “It’s lovely to have someone like that for the really emotional, dramatic stuff. That’s what really makes the film, first and foremost, a human story. Because if it’s not that, it’s not really relatable or interesting.”

Cassandra Clare on Lily:

I think, physically, Lily is incredibly like Clary.

Jace and Clary’s story to conclude with City of Heavenly Fire on March 1, 2014

Posted on Updated on

One part of The Shadowhunters Chronicles, The Infernal Devices, has come to an epic conclusion with Clockwork Princess. The book is a really explanatory connecting point between the TID and TMI, so you should read it as soon as you can!

Along with that, the official Shadowhunters App revealed that the final book in the six books series, The Mortal Instruments, titled City of Heavenely Fire, will hit shelves on March 1, 2014.

Along with these two parts concluding, we also have the first book, Lady Midnight, in The Dark Artifices, the sequel trilogy, coming out in March 2015.

Our beloved Jace and Clary have a lot in store for themselves in the final book, and given the interesting revelations in Clockwork Princess, we can’t wait to see how Jace handles the Heavenly Fire!
