Katherine McNamara talks Clace and Shadowhunters season 2 finale

KATHERINE MCNAMARA, DOMINIC SHERWOOD

In an interview with Entertainment WeeklyKatherine McNamara talked Jace and Clary, Clary’s relationship with Jonathan and Valentine, and more, in light of the summer finale of Shadowhunters tonight.

“The exciting thing about Clary and Jace right now is that for the first time in the series, they’re both in a place where they’re open to the possibility of a relationship and they’re open to exploring what this connection between them really is,” McNamara says. “Up until this point, one of them has either been suppressing feelings or running from them — one thing or another has been in their way and now they have this opportunity. Despite the impending doom and the other prevalent issues that need to be dealt with, they’re finding that their connection is extremely powerful and you saw that in that scene in the courtyard when they were tracking Jonathan. There is a power in their connection, there is a power in their emotions for each other that goes beyond any attraction, it goes beyond any flirtation. It’s truly a spiritual thing and there’s a power in that that we will see play into their attempts to defeat Valentine and the Seelie Queen.”

Will Tudor cast as Sebastian in ‘Shadowhunters’

Here we are, Shadowhunters! We finally meet one of the main antagonists of The Mortal Instruments series, Sebastian Verlac.

TV Line is exclusively reporting that actor Will Tudor will portray the villain. We will see him first later this year in second half of the sophomore season.

“He’s so good in this part,” showrunner Todd Slavkin gushes to TVLine, throwing out adjectives like “amazing” and “mind-blowing.” Fellow showrunner Darren Swimmer concurs, adding that there’s a “vulnerability” to Tudor’s performance that’s truly “captivating.”

As with the many changes from book to screen, the character of Sebastian will be different too.

“We really put our own spin on him the character,” Slavkin says, though he wants any further specifics to remain a surprise for fans. “As we’ve done with all the episodes you’ve seen, we’ve always had our own spin on everything, and Sebastian is no different.”

If you think he looks familiar, you may have caught a glimpse of him in Game of Thrones as Olyver.

Cleophas is Luke’s sister, and one of the Iron Sisters.

“We’re excited about our new spin on the character Cleophas, who in the books was Luke’s mother. In the show she’s one of Luke’s sisters, a fierce, formidable presence and a woman of strong principles and conviction,” said Darren Swimmer.
