The Infernal Devices

SPOILER Photo! Jace Herondale and Jem Carstairs in ‘City of Heavenly Fire’

Posted on Updated on

Cassandra Clare posted a new art from Cassandra Jean‘s postcard set of scenes that will appear in the last Mortal Instruments book, City of Heavenly Fire. Obviously, this is a spoiler, so beware!

The card shows us Jace Herondale and Jem Carstairs, from what we assume, just before he left to find Tessa Gray in London as seen in the epilogue of Clockwork Princess.

This is also a hint, that perhaps, Jace might survive the war too. No promises, but we can always hope!

The author also shared two quotes that appear in the book, without references:

1) “Everyone gets the time they get together, and no more. Maybe we’re not so different that way.”

2) “I should warn you we’ll be making out in the dark. Big, sloppy make-outage.

Can you guess who the quotes could be from?

INFERNAL DEVICES characters in the season of winter in new Shadowhunter Card

In a lovely new project in the Shadowhunters Cards, Cassandra Clare posted a new card where Cassandra Jean depicted the characters of The Infernal Devices series in the season of winter. Check it out in full by clicking on the image below:

Taking  a break briefly from the tarot card project, I asked Cassandra Jean to draw the four seasons as the four Shadowhunter series I have either written or planned right now — The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, the Dark Artifices, and The Mysterious TLH.

Here The Infernal Devices takes the season of winter. From left: Gideon, Sophie, Henry, Charlotte, Will, Tessa, Church (in a bad mood!) Jem, Gabriel, Cecily, and in the background, Magnus and Jessamine.

Cassandra Clare talks about the possible The Infernal Devices adaptation

Posted on

Now that we’re constantly hearing some news or the other about a potential The Infernal Devices adaptation, Cassandra Clare took to her Tumblr to address the questions.

Here’s what the author has to say about the movie, the screenplay for which is being penned by Stephanie Sanditz:

One thing to keep in mind is that no movie is being made until they are rolling cameras so it’s early to freak out. Wait till someone actually gets cast at least. 🙂

What made me accept a potential movie? I guess: I like movies. I don’t think film is a lesser art than books. Just a different art. I don’t think book adaptations to film are doomed to be bad. I think a lot of them are good. I think Lord of the Rings was good. I think Psycho and Jaws and The Shining and Apocalypse Now and Atonement and A Clockwork Orange and LA Confidential and a million more I could name are good movies.
