Constantin to restart ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes’ production in 2014!

Finally, Shadowhunters! Here’s the news we have all been waiting for: THR is reporting exclusively that Constantin is pushing ahead with production plans on The Mortal Instruments sequel, City of Ashes.

Martin Moszkowicz cites the enthusiasm of the fanbase as one of the reasons (Aww!) they want to rectify any errors and give us a better movie.

“The fan response, from the blogosphere and the thousands of mails we have received, has encouraged us to keep going,” Moszkowicz  says. “It’s been overwhelmingly positive, in contrast to some other YA titles.”

“We are analyzing what we did wrong with the first film, particularly with the positioning and marketing, and what changes we have to make. We are working with a great group of people to reposition the franchise (for City of Ashes).”

The marketing may have been one thing, but personally, I hope they work on making a linear storyline. Most of the complaints against City of Bones that I saw on Twitter and Tumblr was about how there was so much going on with all the action scenes (which were great, no issues!), that the main story kind of got lost somewhere.

Here’s to hoping City of Ashes will be better and we get to hear more soon!
