Official MORTAL INSTRUMENTS soundtrack to release on August 20

The official soundtrack for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie will be released by Republic Records on August 20, three days before the movie opens in theatres.

NEW YORK, April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — REPUBLIC RECORDS and CONSTANTIN FILM have partnered to release the official soundtrack album for “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” on August 20th, 2013.

It serves as the sonic companion to one of the year’s most hotly anticipated films–in theaters August 23, 2013 via Screen Gems in the US. Hitting stores and digital retailers this summer, the record will be comprised of a bevy of new music.

The album opens the doorway into the world of “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones”, and the music fuels the film’s mind-blowing fantasy. It’s the perfect aural gateway to the City of Bones for fans of the series and newcomers alike. The music serves an integral role in the film, adding even more emotion to key moments. A Constantin Film and Unique Features (TMI) Inc. production, “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” is adapted by Jessica Postigo Paquette from the New York Times best-selling young adult fantasy novel series by author Cassandra Clare.
